The first track, built against the ICAR Sixth Deans’ Committee syllabus and taught to agribusiness students before release. For the 63 state agricultural universities, the three central ones, and everyone working between the farm and the shelf.
Why agribusiness first
Agriculture is the one discipline in India with a national syllabus. The Sixth Deans’ Committee framework is shared across the agricultural universities, so material mapped to it fits everywhere, instead of one institution at a time.
A countable audience
63 state agricultural universities, 3 central agricultural universities, 4 deemed universities and 4 central universities with agriculture faculties. Plus 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras doing extension work.
Nobody else is here
The large platforms sell generic AI and data science. None of them teach what machine intelligence does to procurement, to a mandi price, to an agri-loan book or to a cold chain.
What the track covers
Six courses, sequenced so a student can take them in order and a department can adopt them one at a time.
- Foundations. What AI and machine learning actually are, taught with agricultural data instead of generic examples.
- Data for agribusiness. Yield, weather, soil, price and market-arrival data: where it comes from, what it is worth, and where it lies.
- Prediction on the farm. Yield forecasting, pest and disease detection, irrigation scheduling.
- The supply chain. Demand forecasting, cold chain, logistics, wastage and traceability.
- Agri-finance and risk. Credit scoring for smallholders, crop insurance, price risk, and what a model gets wrong when the borrower has no formal record.
- Policy, ethics and the field. Subsidy targeting, data ownership, and the gap between a working model and a working programme.
Each course runs as a semester unit with companion Colab notebooks, a question bank and a graded project.
Four editions of the same track
The same field reads differently at 19, at 22 and at 35, so the track ships in versions instead of one course stretched to fit.
